30th April, The Perseverance
The Perseverance, in Lambs Conduit Street hosted the recent LIKE 3 meet up. This is a popular, unpretentious pub, offering cask ales including Thwaites Wainwright!
Following introductions, sixteen of us participated in discussion in the ‘World Cafe’ format. This is where parties split and join other groups for further conversation.
The first subject chosen by Matthew Rees, “When does the wisdom of crowds replace experts” provided lively debate. You will be able to read the comments and conclusions on Matthew’s blog.
Roger Williams (Realia Consulting) introduced the second subject, “Knowledge and Recession. How the lack of knowledge caused it”. Considering financial derivatives, contributors were sceptical that knowledge was missing – just unavailable. I understand that our opinions will form part of Roger’s current research.
I was very pleased to chat with LIKErs Geraldine, Noeleen, James, Ben and Simon and look forward to the next meet up.
